Change … Growing Together Through the Seasons of Life
People sometimes ask, “How can I be sure they won’t change after marriage?”
The truth is they will. We all will. Change is part of life until the very end. But the deeper question is this: who is guiding the change?
The greatest assurance for any marriage is not in promising to stay the same, but in both husband and wife seeking to grow more like Christ by submitting to God’s word in the Bible. When God is doing the shaping, the changes are always moving in the right direction.
Looks will change.
Life will change.
Bodies may soften.
Hairlines may shift.
Babies may arrive.
Seasons will pass.
But character? That should be drawing ever nearer to Christ.
So no, we cannot avoid change. But we can entrust ourselves to our God who transforms us. His Word works in our hearts, growing patience, deepening kindness and strengthening love.
That is the beauty of a marriage shaped by Gods Word: it changes us, not away from each other, but closer to Him and closer to one another.
